The Night I Lost My Innocence

by Ruhig

A hand raises
White rag wrapped
Loom over a bed too large
For yellow haired ghost faced boy
Lying alone in the night
Walls close in tight
Splattered red
From mouth held agape, disbelief
Missing more than outgrown teeth
Innocence pours down alabaster cheeks
No more image of closet creatures
In hollow haunted green eyes
Childhood fantasies plummet
With each head snapping blow
Realizing life is horrific
Slumping to darkness
Last breath spraying
Defiance on his face
