To the Point

by Ruhig

Look into my velvet orbs
And know I will not purloin
Your heart
My candor for truth
May set you back
Forgive me if you wish
Stay awhile
Or walk away bruised
I lack the pleasantries of deception and disguise
Stop, look again before you pass judgment and see
That my eyes do not sway
I have interest of the mind
And do not fall to frolicking phrases
That try to tempt and tantalize
We can keep to the basics
If you like
So long as ideas are original and the
Candor resonates of honesty.
