The Coming of a Chosen Two

(This one is out of the box circa 1992.  Forgive the rough youthfulness)

Only stars star saw that night
As hearts came to flight

Both so unwaveringly true
As words passed between the two

Syllables of hidden love
A fire neither wanted to shove

They did not ask why
So long they chose to deny

The beautiful twining will forever be felt
As together they melt

Two lovers timid to embrace
Frightened that time would hasten

Freely all thoughts were shared
Forever it seemed, into the distance they stared

Love for them would be unending

That time
Locked forever in this rhyme

Two hearts alone they came
As one they leave
Never to be the same

Grasping Vapors

The vestige but a vapor
Swirling on currents out of control
Disarrayed by celestial sway
Pulling you away from the made mundane
To recollection of emotion sealed
From flight
Won’t you allow them to materialize
Into the mesmerizing bond
Of souls bound
Beyond the toll of heavenly chimes
So many moments ago?
For it seems you’ve settled
In your silent way
To return from what may have been
The ever sought impossible fantasy
To the mundane

Worlds Apart

Barefoot and brave
I was there again last night
Feet pound down ivy secluded glories
Undaunted by terrors that subside below
Coiled and crouched
They anticipate
To pounce on prey
From clandestine hues
The verdant jungle flora
My prospect
Must encompass everything
Plunge deeper, faster
Into wild ways burgeoning
My reckless foray
In this voyages of
Past, present pleasures
Of heightened senses
In the turbulence of world
Compulsorily slowed
I don’t tip toe over knotty conduits
Amid the starvation of the real fiends
Dilapidated, manipulated, maddened
In every uttered word they vibrate
Seeking some form of demise
Of someone, something
From every scenario
I don’t bother to inquire
They only misconstrue
My query of sincerity as feigned,
Misguided attempt to attain leverage
As they do, with ritualistic social investigation
Half spoken, with no ear
To lend, if answer is irrelevant
To their own agenda
So here I am tacit
Beneath their structures
In my eloquently written words
Knowing I am free to fly
All ways
Barefoot and brave

In a frame
I return to a boy,
In azure tides
Of magnificence
Rocking me
Elusive reeds
My heart
Lost so far
In a place I long to stay

I dreamed I could fall asleep.
